Company Update: MET VI and MET FL Merge to Form MET Florida, Inc.

We’re excited to announce that as of February 2023, MET VI (originally based in the U.S. Virgin Islands) and MET FL (based in Florida) have officially merged to form a single entity: MET Florida, Inc.

This marks a major step forward in our company’s evolution, combining nearly two decades of technical expertise under one unified brand, backed by a new corporate structure built for growth and long-term scalability.

A Look Back: The Origins of MET

MET VI began its journey in 2005, launching in the U.S. Virgin Islands as a service provider focused on satellite internet and wireless deployments. From rugged setups to underserved regions, MET VI carved out a niche where others hesitated — helping businesses stay connected when it mattered most.

As our client base and capabilities grew, we naturally expanded into managed services, offering support for infrastructure, security, and business continuity across a wide range of industries.

By 2021, that growth had extended to Florida, where several clients needed boots-on-the-ground support. To meet that demand, we launched MET FL, a Florida-based S Corporation designed to serve and support our mainland clients more directly.

Outgrowing the Model

While MET FL was initially created to support the needs of MET VI’s clients in Florida, it didn’t take long before MET FL began to shine on its own. The business environment in Florida proved to be fertile ground for our services, and MET FL quickly became the dominant force in our operations.

By the end of 2022, it was clear:

• MET FL had outpaced MET VI in revenue, infrastructure, and opportunity

• The S Corporation structure was limiting our ability to scale, particularly when it came to planning for investment or long-term strategic growth

• Maintaining multiple legal entities was creating complexity rather than clarity

The Transition to MET Florida, Inc.

In early 2023, we made the decision to consolidate both entities under one name and one forward-facing brand. MET VI and MET FL were formally dissolved, and a new C Corporation — MET Florida, Inc. — was created.

Why a C Corporation? Because it gives us:

• A clean ownership structure, built to scale

• The ability to accept investors and explore funding opportunities in the future

• A more professional, centralized identity as we prepare for the next chapter of growth

What MET Florida Stands For

While the paperwork and structure have changed, our core values haven’t. MET Florida is still built on the same foundation of:

• Practical, boots-on-the-ground experience

• Scalable IT support for small and mid-sized businesses

• A client-first approach to security, systems, and success

• Deep regional knowledge across both island and mainland business environments

Today, MET Florida is focused on growing our footprint throughout Southwest Florida, building on our existing relationships and delivering smart, time-based managed IT services designed to take the weight of technology off our clients’ shoulders.
